Another year over …. and what a year it was for me and my team at Sally Durant Aesthetic Education & Training! With so many advantageous developments over the course of 2017, this forthcoming new year looks set to be our most exciting and prosperous to date.
CIBTAC/BABTAC Award for Outstanding Contribution To Industry
A major highlight of 2017 came in June when I became the incredibly proud recipient of the CIBTAC/BABTAC Award for Outstanding Contribution To Industry.
I was truly honoured to gain this recognition for my 35+ years’ experience in advanced beauty, aesthetics and formal education and training and would like to thank CIBTAC/BABTAC for supporting our commitment to establish recognised standards of training and practice.
2017 saw our Level 4 courses going international with our first international affiliated centre, Aesthetics International Academy in Singapore.
Aesthetics International Academy, winner of the prestigious CIBTAC/BABTAC Best CIBTAC Centre Award and Best Student Award for 2017, has a proven track record in training professional therapists. The academy offers an extensive portfolio of accredited beauty courses and were keen to extend their offering to meet the ever-growing demand for advanced beauty and aesthetic courses.
I was privileged to travel to the Singapore to personally train the academy’s tutors in the practical skills elements of my Level 4 qualifications.
Joyce Chua of Aesthetics International says, ‘’We aim to be the epitome of the aesthetic industry by setting the benchmark for quality aesthetic education in Singapore. As Sally Durant Aesthetic Education & Training offer the most extensive and educationally robust aesthetic course content, it was a natural choice for us to partner with them. We see it as a great opportunity for ourselves and our students.’’
I look forward to developing our relationship further throughout 2018!
Sally Durant Affiliate Centres
In 2017 we were delighted to offer our Level 4 courses via affiliated training centres who are now licensed to use our curriculum design, learning resources, course management protocols and support material – including LCBT(London College of Beauty Therapy), South Thames College andFacethetics Training in Liverpool.
Through these carefully selected centres, learners now have the flexibility to train at different venues throughout the country and can now also gain access to the 19+ Leaner Loan at further education centres LCBT and South Thames College.
JCCP Gathered Momentum For Launch
The Joint Council For Cosmetic Practitioners gathered considerable momentum in 2017.
The JCCP is the proposed ‘self-regulating’ body for the non-surgical aesthetics industry in England formed after the publication by the Government of its policy on regulation in the sector in January 2016.
The primary aim of the JCCP is to provide a mechanism that can enable the public to clearly identify safe practitioners across all non-surgical aesthetic treatments.
Further announcements are expected in early 2018. We will bring you all the latest developments as to what the register means for aesthetic practitioners, so keep in touch!
Last year we launched a series of enrichment workshops, as part of Unit 7 of our Level 4 Diploma, designed to give our students insight into the many procedures and treatments the aesthetic industry has to offer.
In June, 3D Lipo kickstarted an exciting schedule of workshops with their introduction to Combined Modalities. Our subsequent schedule included many award winning, industry leaders including our sponsorsMesoestetic and NeoStrata, plus Rejuvenated UK, ABC Lasers, Cosmedix, Dermalux,Hydrafacial and SkinPen Precision.
A huge thank you to all those suppliers who supported us in the delivery of these highly informative and beneficial workshops. We are delighted to be able to introduce our students to the industry’s leading aesthetic brands, treatments and products.
Watch this space for the launch of our 2018 enrichment workshop schedule – coming very soon!
See you soon in 2018!
We have many exciting developments and projects planned for 2018; further course development, new workshops, staff expansion and the licensing of our Level 4 courses to name but a few.
I thank you for your continued support and look forward to hearing from you in 2018!
Love from Sally & Team
